Ambo stated that despite repeated appeals and formal submissions, no concrete support or response has been received from the administration, leaving them with no choice but to take peaceful yet firm action. The hunger strike is aimed at drawing public attention and urging the authorities to address their longstanding concerns with seriousness and urgency.

He appreciated the committee’s approach and reiterated the administration’s commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of the Scheduled Tribe communities. Addressing further questions from the media, the DC acknowledged the growing concerns regarding overcrowding in the Hapoli market area, including issues related to unregulated parking and the presence of shops on footpaths. He stated that the administration is actively planning to address these challenges through a comprehensive restructuring and modification of the market zone to ensure better traffic management, pedestrian safety, and an organized commercial space.
