Call for Justice: ST Bachao Andolan Sets May 8 Hunger Strike Over Tribal Land and ILP Issues

The ST Bachao Andolan held a press briefing to announce a 48-hour hunger strike beginning on 8th May at 9:00 AM, expressing strong dissatisfaction with the continued inaction of the district administration. During the briefing, Millo Ambo, Chairman of Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Lower Subansiri Unit outlined the committee’s key demands related to the protection of indigenous land rights, strict enforcement of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system. Ambo stated that despite repeated appeals and formal submissions, no concrete support or response has been received from the administration, leaving them with no choice but to take peaceful yet firm action. The hunger strike is aimed at drawing public attention and urging the authorities to address their longstanding concerns with seriousness and urgency.
